From infant care through to playgroup, nursery, and kindergarten, our centre in River Valley offers a warm, stimulating environment tailored to each stage of early childhood development. Rooted in a bilingual immersion philosophy, our programmes integrate purposeful play, thematic inquiry, and strong language foundations to prepare children for lifelong learning.

Since our founding by Tien Hsia Language School and Morris Allen English in 2003, we have remained committed to nurturing every child’s curiosity, confidence, and compassion. Today, our River Valley centre continues this tradition with thoughtfully designed learning spaces and caring educators who guide your child at every step.

Discover Nurturing Programmes at Our River Valley Preschool

Playgroup (18 to 30 months)

Our playgroup programme introduces young learners to the world through music, storytelling, art, and movement. Children are encouraged to explore and express themselves in a safe and language-rich environment that supports early communication skills and sensory development.

Aligned with the Early Years Development Framework (EYDF), our playgroup curriculum is built around nurturing secure attachments, social-emotional confidence, and a growing awareness of self and others. With low educator-child ratios, our teachers offer responsive guidance that supports each child’s developmental rhythm.

Nursery (3 to 4 years)

Our nursery programme at River Valley is split into Nursery 1 and Nursery 2, each carefully crafted to support your child’s cognitive, social, and emotional development.

In Nursery 1, children engage in theme-based explorations that foster curiosity and language growth through hands-on learning and storytelling in both English and Mandarin. By Nursery 2, they begin developing deeper independence and emergent literacy as they build routines, engage in group projects, and express themselves more confidently.

Through immersive bilingual experiences, children in our nursery programme begin to use both languages purposefully, guided by nurturing educators who model and scaffold language in everyday interactions.

Kindergarten (5 to 6 years)

Our kindergarten prepares children for Primary 1 with a strong emphasis on bilingual literacy, early numeracy, and character development.

The curriculum focuses on project-based learning, critical thinking, and language mastery through designated English and Mandarin days. Children read, write, and speak in both languages as they engage with rich thematic content. Educators help build foundational academic skills while fostering empathy, resilience, and confidence through daily routines and social interaction.

At this stage, we also emphasise self-care, responsibility, and positive peer relationships, ensuring a smooth transition into formal schooling.

Infant Care (2 to 17 months)

Our infant care programme is designed to provide a secure, nurturing space where babies can bond with consistent caregivers and develop at their own pace.

With a low child-to-educator ratio, our team offers personalised routines that align with each baby’s feeding, sleeping, and sensory needs. Gentle music, tactile play, and language-rich interactions support early brain development and build secure attachments. We also maintain close communication with families to ensure your child receives holistic support at home and in school.

Each day at our infant care centre is filled with warmth, comfort, and discovery, laying the foundation for lifelong learning.

We welcome children from infancy up to 6 years old, covering a full suite of programmes: infant care, playgroup, nursery, and kindergarten. Our infant care in River Valley supports your child’s earliest developmental needs with warmth and gentle guidance. As they grow, they transition into structured, play-based learning in our PlaygroupNursery, and Kindergarten programmes, all tailored to nurture bilingual development.

How do I decide between the Choa Chu Kang and River Valley campuses?

Both our Choa Chu Kang and River Valley centres follow the same trusted curriculum, developed in collaboration with Tien Hsia Language School and Morris Allen English. If you’re choosing between them, you may wish to consider proximity, traffic flow during drop-off hours, and programme availability. No matter the location, you’ll find the same nurturing care and child-centred approach that defines Orange Tree Preschool.

Is the River Valley location accessible for daily commuting?

Yes, our River Valley preschool is ideally positioned for families working or living in the city. We’re a short walk from Fort Canning MRT (DT20) and Great World MRT (TE15), with multiple bus routes nearby. Whether you’re commuting from home or the office, daily drop-offs are smooth and convenient, ideal for working professionals and expat families.

How does your school support bilingual development?

Bilingualism is at the heart of our teaching philosophy. Our curriculum is anchored in immersive learning experiences, alternating Unique Language Days where English and Mandarin take turns as the primary medium of instruction. With strong language role models, children learn to switch confidently between languages.

What’s the student-to-teacher ratio like?

We maintain small class sizes across all levels—from infant care to kindergarten in River Valley—to ensure every child receives personalised attention. Our teachers take time to understand each child’s needs and build strong relationships with families. This allows us to nurture every child according to their pace of development, consistent with our belief that learning should always be fun, enjoyable, and child-centred.
